A Wonderful Christmas Day

My husband and my mum-in-law's husband off to town
for last minute shopping before Christmas
Afternoon tea in the garden on Christmas Eve

Hubby and me on Christmas Eve
My MIL, her husband and my husband; you can see by the amount of gifts we don't have children/ babies in the house !
Christmas Lunch was a resounding success

Well, it's all over bar the shouting... The lunch was superb; many recipes to follow in the next few days. *Sigh* I had too much dessert; my MIL's lemon meringue pie was delicious!

As I write this blog on Christmas night, I'm exhausted; Christmas is almost over. The sun has not even set here in beautiful Central South Africa and I'm off to bed.
I trust you all had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends.

  1. Jo, it sounds as though you had a wonderful Christmas & I look forward to reading more about it & seeing some of your delcious recipes too, of course ;) By the way, I love your burglar bars, they are so unsual. Did you have them custom made ? I had not noticed them before, perhaps because the night photo shows them up so well ?

  2. Yes Lynda, it was really a wonderful day. You are BRILLIANT! My burglar bars are custom made. My erstwhile neighbour, Willie Venter made them for me when I built this particular extension onto the house. The ones inside my house are like a twirly "es" (S)- these outside are quite different. You are so observant! Hugs Jo
