Last week when I did my monthly grocery shopping in a larger town a few kilometres from home, I took Megan, our eleven-year-old Maltese Poodle x Scottish Terrier along for a haircut. As you can see by the photo above, she was in dire need of a clean-up.
The decor and crockery in this coffee shop is very colourful and arty
Once I'd loaded my groceries into the car, I drove to a coffee shop in the top of town. I had brought my knitting with me (I'm never without my knitting in winter!) and thought I may as well sit and knit while I had a cup of tea. When the waitron brought the menu, I saw they had "Breakfast in a Glass". I've discovered this cold breakfast has many names. I first got to know it as a "Health Breakfast" and even refer to it as this when I make my own here at home. Certain diners give it the name: "Shape Breakfast" (meaning it's easy on the waistline). I've even eaten a "Mountain Top Granola Breakfast" at a restaurant perched on a mountainside down in Kwa Zulu Natal.
Now this: " Breakfast in a Glass" I ordered along with a pot of rooibos (herbal) tea.
No sooner had my tea and the breakfast arrived, when the receptionist at the vet phoned and said Megan was ready to be collected! I finished my breakfast and had two cups of tea. I packed my knitting into my bag and went off to fetch Megan who looked like she had stepped out of "Doggy Vogue"!
Megan, like any woman worth her salts, grins happily after her session at the doggy beauty palour
Too cute!!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it Jackleen?
ReplyDeleteMegan looks great! And happy!
ReplyDeleteMegan looks lovely and she is definitely smiling after her session at the beauty parlour!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit Jo. As you asked about Spanish omelette, a frittata is an Italian style omelette which can contain anything from meat to cheese and vegetables, it's made in a skillet and not turned, often with a lid added to cook the top. The Spanish tortilla is made as you see on my blog and is turned for cooking the other side, so it becomes detached from the pan and then can be taken out of the pan and transported in one piece to the table or a picnic! Nice to meet you, regards, Sharon.
Hi Gemma; ) yes, Megan looks like all women when their bad hair has been exchanged for a beautiful new coiff! Thanks for popping in.
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon;) yes, compared to Megan's "before" photo, she is definitely happier! Aha, thanks for explaining the difference. I meant to tell you I cover my omelette with a lid while cooking. I will post my recipe sometime - the family loves it. And I'll make your recipe soon to hear their comments... Thanks for popping in.
Isn't it nice how everything worked out so nicely? You were able to enjoy some time relaxing at a very cute coffee shop...Those colorful cups are divine. And your princess Megan looks very happy.
