A Surprise Parcel!

Yesterday I sent John to the post office to collect the mail. Imagine my surprise and delight when he arrived with a parcel from Tanzania!

Once again, my dear friend, Lynda, whose fascinating blog about her life in East Africa can be seen here. If you've never visited this blog, do yourself a favor and pop over there via this link. You will be so glad you did.

Lynda (who is the same age as my son, so her children are the same ages as my grandchildren!) and I have been online friends since the beginning of 2005 when I lived and worked in West Africa. In May this year, she was in Johannesburg awaiting the birth of her second baby and I had business in that city. It was natural that we should meet and you can read about this exciting day here.

Inside my parcel this week, was the delightful little book photographed above. It is filled with charming quotes from many poets and other literary greats. The first page says this:

"To know someone here or ther with whom you feel there is an understanding in spite of distances or thoughts unexpressed - that cam make this earth a garden." Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Another:

"I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers" Ephesians 1:16

Lynda, you are the sweetest, most thoughtful person I have ever come across. Thanks for my lovely surprise.

May you be blessed this season and always.

Hi diane;) thanks, this is the first post that I've forgotten to use the "LARGE" font on my "new post" and this might be the problem. Or have you always struggled. I'll look into this.
