Burj El Fateh - Khartoum

As mentioned in yesterday's post, our GM took us out to dinner on Sunday night.  We ate at El Mugran (what a splendid restaurant, I made the reservation earlier in the week) which served an International buffet that night. There were two kinds of soup, five meat dishes, eleven vegetables and as many salads to choose from. Breads, sauces,  dressings and other accompaniments ensured no one went hungry (least of all the vegetarian!) Afterwards there was a HUGE selection of sweets and deserts, petite fours and other delightfully decadent trifles to enjoy with a cup of coffee. You could finish with a selection of cheeses and biscuits but we didn't make it to this table! A lovely evening in all.

Before we went out, I'd set up the self-timer on my camera for a photo of me and Grant. Shadow jumped up onto the table to inspect it. Not wanting him to knock my camera off the table, I grabbed him  but you can see that he didn't want to be part of the scene

A photo of me and Grant without the cat! (I bought this gold floor length dress from the souq on Sunday)

I took this photo of the floors above our table in the Mugran Grill
I tried to capture the height and splendour of the storeys from the ground floor lobby in the hotel
