Today is our older son, John's birthday. By the time this post is aired, Grant and I will be on our way to visit him, Debbie and their precious children in the Drakensberg. Debbie asked Grant if we'd come down and surprise John on this special day. As it was Debbie's birthday last Thursday, we're going to celebrate her day along with John's. You can read here about John and Debbie and their life in the Berg.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN! We love you and wish you a blessed and prosperous year ahead
Jo, have a fun and safe trip. Happy Birthday to your son, John! Happy New Years.
ReplyDeleteI love surprises like that. I shocked my brother Rob by showing up at the west coast for his 40th birthday surprise party a couple of years ago. He kept saying, "I can't believe you're here!" and I'd say, "I was here for your last birthday," then he'd reply, "Well, yes, but that was different." (I don't know why.)
ReplyDeleteI hope John is just as surprised. I know he'll be just as happy. He's fortunate to have such loving parents, and I know you'll have photos from the birthday gathering.

ReplyDeleteHope you all have a WONDERFUL time together, celebrating the two birthdays!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous grandchild! How do you manage to tear yourself away when it's time to go back home???
I love the little moppet in the back pack. What a cutie!
ReplyDeleteSorry I have not been around much lately. I feel just a trifle snowed under.

Happy Birthday to your son John. How nice that you have plans to surprise him on his special day.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, John! I bet John was totally surprised! What fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm typing this as we drive south down Highway 99 to Long Beach (south of L.A., an 8-hour drive from our house). Starting tomorrow, Sat. 1/8/11, we won't have any internet access for a week, but I've arranged for posts to show up on Sat-Sun-Mon-Tues-Wed.
