I never pictured black herons perching in trees...I just pictured them standing in water or flying. Unique capture, Jo! You got a great shot of its eye.

Hi there - I think your cat is a cray person! I like him/ her!It look like you got really close to the heron - they always seems so out of place in trees, but I know lots of them nest in them.Cheers - Stewart M - Australia

That is a very cool photo! I saw a heron in a tree for the first time the other day. He was really high up, too. We always see them in water.
