Catching up on life in Mwadui!

Once again I've been caught up in the Guest House, preparing menus, organizing shopping trips to the market and making snacks for an important function over the weekend. (more about that tomorrow)

Over and above these tasks, I'm kept pretty busy with the five cats - mostly trying to integrate the two newest additions to the rest of the family.

On Wednesday the vet will arrive to neuter our adopted cats. Knowing how things happen in Africa, I imagine that I'll have to assist him again.  Once we've completed the procedure on each cat, and settled them both in the air conditioned bedroom to come around, we'll go across to the Guest House. Honey, the guard dog "got out of the yard" and became pregnant while I was away on leave in June. She's since had seven pups (one of which is being raised at the Guest House) and she now needs to be spayed. Again, I'll probably have to assist the vet. (more about these happenings later on in the week)

Meanwhile, I think Ambrose is very frustrated at not being able to do a post on Pet Pride yesterday. (I know the feeling - I miss being part of Blogland - but that's about to change!) However, he seemed [temporarily] placated when I gave him a toy dog which we'd brought back from SA especially for him!

What am I supposed to do with a dog, Mum?

Let's see if he's more interesting this way up!

Mmm, not much smell...

So what else did you bring me?

BTW The toy dog fell off the cats' tree and after Ginger and Shadow sniffed it, they left if on the trampoline with the other toys!

OK so, I am determined to post regularly AND to visit all your blogs regularly. Please bear with me and I'll be back in the swing of things within a very short time.

I hope you're all having a great week and thank every one of my blogger friends who so loyally comment on my posts.

  2. I'm with Ambrose...happy to see you home, Jo. Looking forward to finding out more about the young cats, and of course "our" (blogland's) favourite cat trio.
I've been fighting a cold lately and have missed several of your posts, so I checked back a few days and just finished reading about your wonderful weekend away with Grant's mother. You certainly rocked "the bling thing" and looked simply beautiful. Any hotel would provide superb service for you, I'd say.
    Love, K
and hi to the cats from Lindy
