Phenomenal sighting

One of our first wildlife sightings back on site, happened during our first week. We'd gone out just after 5pm when Grant finished work. We'd passed the explosives magazine where we'd stop to photograph a Juvenile Malachite Kingfisher, Silverbirds, Lilac-breasted Rollers, and a Beautiful Sunbird. Heady with excitement at our "first" sightings back in Mwadui, we rounded the corner...

...to see two Pied Crows bombing and trying to peck something on the wide sandy road. Then it reared its head and we saw it was a cobra!
The cobra makes a hood to scare the enemy

One crow sat on an overhead wire and watched as its mate followed the cobra who finally disappeared into the grass

I'm linking my post to Saturday Critters Party hosted by my friend Eileen.

I trust you're all having a great weekend.
