The pups are doing well; Princess has ample milk and although she only has six teats and there are seven pups, they seem to eat in sessions of threes and fours.
On Wednesday afternoon the vet arrived and was pleased to see how healthy Princess was and the perfect little of pups. The whole of the first day this new young mother spent feeding and cleaning her babies.

While Michael showed Princess and the pups to the vet, Madu, the Guest House gardener arrived along with Albert, head of the askaris.

On Thursday morning, as I went out with Princess' bowl of warm milk and chicken flavored biscuits, Zechariah told me that she'd been banging on the door of the hut. I opened it and she dashed out. Stopping short, she turned around and checked into the hut where the pups were all fast asleep and then she made a frantic dash towards the back of the house. She was finally able to answer an urgent call of nature!
