Sunset over Tanzania this week

I'm linking to Skywatch Friday which you can visit here

And today's update on the pups: day 29. These photos were taken yesterday but today 17 October, the pups are one month old.

On Wednesday Michael brought left-over oxtail stew bones from the Guest House. Between us, we pulled the meat off each bone and fed it to the dogs. Yesterday, as Michael arrived in our yard with the plastic left-over dish, the pups immediately started to yelp and jump up onto the wire in anticipation!
Ooh-ee, we smell yummy stuff!
Michael began feeding a pup from one side
And next...
...and next
Great interest as Michael cuts off more strips from the mutton chop bones
Come-on Michael. Pass that meat!

They were so replete after these tasty morsels that they fell fast asleep in their normal bundle of togetherness. We only managed to take them onto the lawn after 4pm. They enjoyed every minute.

According to the website which blogger-friend Sandra sent me, the pups should stay with the owner/breeder (that's me!) for 12 weeks. And this is what I'm aiming for. That leaves eight weeks of the pups still living here in a litter. And with Mama Princess. We go out on leave in two weeks' time; we're out for three weeks. So that makes the pups nine weeks old when we return. I'm showing Michael and Regina the ropes on how to feed them and especially how to ensure their continued safety. I'll do a post on these preparations in due course.

Meanwhile, here's wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

  8. Sunset is beautiful. And the pups are getting big fast. Reminds me of the 7 pups S-I-L found on the side of the road on his way home from work in the Hill country. He put them in his truck and took them home with him. They looked like lab/Ger Shep combination and about 6-8 weeks old. Luckily they found homes for all (and kept one themselves).

The puppies seem to have a very good appetite ! I am sure you only go reluctantly on your leave, but they certainly will be in good hands !
