Little Liam's dedication

On Sunday we attended a service at church whereby Angus and Amanda dedicated little Liam to the Lord. This is not specifically scriptural, if you want to argue the point, but it means that you promise to bring your child up in the faith. When he or she are old enough, they decide for themselves if they want to be baptized.
Angus and Amanda with Joel, five, Abby (three) and Liam, six weeks

Liam had a Superman cape and suit on!
Joel looks just like Angus here
Lourie, our pastor and Amanda's father, lays his hand on little Liam
Another little girl joined the family group while Lourie pronounces the benediction
Lourie hands over the certificate with the baby's full names: Liam Angus Hedges. The two older children were bored and rolling around on the floor by this time!
After the service, a friend took a group photo of the family. Grant's mum, the great-grandmother was also at the service

I'm linking my post to Our World Tuesday here

  5. I think that it is an excellent idea to let the child choose his religion when he or she is grown up. We don't have that here, only Christenings in whatever religion. And a Superman costume for such a ceremony is the first time in my life that I have seen that ! But why not ?
