Good fences, good cosmos

Traveling back from a neighboring town, Grant stopped that I could photograph the beautiful displays of cosmos on the side of the road. 

 At this time of the year, this naturalized weed grows abundantly in the veld here in the Free State. Several scenes,  in our beautiful province during autumn, are depicted below. Flowering cosmos, a farm fence, wide open spaces (which we call veld) a copse of blue-gum trees and a flat topped mountain in the distance.
