Good fences, good trip

I dug into my archives (of only six weeks ago !) to show photos for today's post. As I write this post on Wednesday night,Rina, Grant and I have been awake since 3.45am and done a round trip of 320km to the city. MIL cataract op has been performed ; on Thursday morning as this post is aired, we're on the way to the city again for her check-up. (More about the trip/s and procedure later)

 On a trip to Ladybrand at the beginning of September, I photographed several fences; I hope you enjoy them all!
A neat looking palisade fence and brick pillars protect this property

This brick wall looks warm and neat - although not too secure
It was disappointing to see this thatched property enclosed by a fence made of old concrete panels

Grant visited the panel beater to get a quote for a small dent in the driver side door of our car (I didn't cause the dent, he did!)  Of course, while he made an appointment for the following week, I took photos of the neat palisade fencing 
This property has a sandstone wall secured by pillars...
...continuing to the electric gate
The route home bypasses our neighboring town of Clocolan. However, we drive closely by the township with its interesting corrugated iron dwellings...
...and brick houses with laundry displayed on the wire fences

    Hi Jo, Nice post. I'm glad that the surgery for your MIL went ahead this time. I'm wondering what the name of the tree is where there are pretty pink blossoms.

    you really have a lot of different types of fence today and they are all really interesting. i love the thatch roof house and i like the shot of the corrugated house. all of these are pretty and all new to me.

    Both my wife and I had cataract surgery last year, both had both eyes done at the same time. It went very well for both of us, no pain or other problems, and the difference in vision is amazing. They now have lenses that will correct for astigmatism, and for the first time in my life, I don't have to wear glasses. They corrected me to 20/30 and it has worked well. I only need glasses for reading now. It was a life changing experience for me. I hope you MIL has as good of results as we did.

    Nice selection of the various types of fences. I liked the one that looked sort of like bricks. Hope your MIL surgery went well.
