My world in SA continues

Now back in South Africa for the past eight months, my life is rather different from that in East Africa. I have a new pup, now already five months old who is more adorable every day. I mentioned some time ago that the gardeners are not permitted to throw chicken bones or other tidbits to Skabenga. However, when Erica cleans out the cooked maize meal saucepan (it tends to burn fast at bottom), she takes it into the garden; in the past she used to feed dear old Megan. If Eddy felt that way inclined, she'd have a bite as well.

It didn't take Skabenga long to work out what was happening at the corner of the garages when Erica carried the maize pot outside!
Skabenga trots ahead of Erica knowing she's going to place food on the paving

It's just watered down scraps of cooked maize meal but to Skabenga it's caviar!

Back inside the house, Skabenga passes out on the kitchen floor (near his mama in the office)
Since he was small, he's slept with his head hanging downwards! Crazy mutt!

  1. So cute, isn't it? I'm glad he's given you and all your readers such a lot of entertainment. He seems to have his quirk of sleeping with his head hanging lower than his body.I'm surprised he likes maize meal too.

  6. both of our dogs sleep like that, they lay on the sofa and let their heads hang off. it would kill me. they would also love the left overs and we don't give ours chicken bones either...

  9. What a cute pup. Daisy loves her scraps, too. And she often sleeps with her head hanging down.
