The moon waxing over South Africa on 17 December 2015
I have to admit to being a bit confused; seeing friend, Eileen's moon shots on FB yesterday, I wondered why her half moon was facing the other way to mine! I checked on Google here on the December moon phases; true enough: the moon was facing the same way as Eileen's. Is this how you see the moon while living in the Northern Hemisphere? If so, why am I only noticing this difference now? (OK, that's a rhetorical question: no blonde jokes please. LOL! )
In a very dry, hot and dusty Free State, we're all hoping and praying that when this moon is full on Christmas day, that it will be the means of supplying much-needed rains over our land.
I'm linking to Skywatch Friday, here
HAPPY FRIDAY TO YOU ALL!
Beautiful moon captures, Jo!! We've had heavy clouds for nearly ten days and lots of rain - nearly 24 hours of solid, hard rain!! I'm waiting to float off!!! Hope you have a great weekend! Enjoy!!

ReplyDeleteGreat shots. Is that true its the other way in the northern hemisphere??? I was expecting Peter Pan to slide down it. Hope you get rain soon. We've had a little but not enough.

ReplyDeleteSplendid shots!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous moon shots! I can't remember thinking the moon was backwards when in SA. But I was surprised to see 'your' summer constellation Orion which is my winter constellation.
ReplyDeleteHoping for rain here, too!! Great moon shots.
