Common Fiscal

Although the Common Fiscal is a "common" bird in our area, it's one of the neatest birds around. The photos below were taken under duress. Skabenga was dragging on the leash and I focussed the camera on the bird with one hand!

The Common Fiscal is a common resident, generally sedentary. Its habitat is almost all woodland, suburban parks and gardens. Its food is mainly insects, small vertebrates, including birds, reptiles and rodents, occasionally seeds and food scraps.
