Gurney's Sugarbird (a lifer!)

Gurney's Sugarbird

We have two sugarbirds in South Africa: Cape Sugarbird and Gurney's Sugarbird.

The Cape Sugarbird occurs only along the Cape coast from East to West.

The Gurney's Sugarbird is found on the East Coast of South Africa, going into the centre of the country, up to North East Transvaal and is even found in East Africa.

The Gurney's Sugarbird never overlaps with the Cape Sugarbird.

I'm linking to Wild Bird Wednesday here

HAPPY WEDNESDAY TO YOU ALL!

  2. I never heard of this one Jo. Not even a naturalist named Gurney. Looks like more Googling for me.
