Villiage Weaver

Villiage Weaver (female)

The Villiage Weaver female has a washed-yellow throat , whitish belly, back mottled dull olive and eyes red or yellow. Well, the bird I captured above definnitely has red eyes.

The Villiage Weaver is a very common resident, gregarious and sedentary. Its call is a rolling swizzling sound.

They are parasitised by the Diderick Cuckoo.

I'm linking to Wild Bird Wednesday here

HAPPY WEDNESDAY TO YOU ALL!

  4. I was totally confused here as I though I knew my weavers!!! I see though it WAS the spottedbacked weaver, now the Village weaver. So many birds have changed their name since I left RSA I am struggling to catch up!
Thanks for sharing another name change!!! Diane
