Waxing gibbous moon. visibility 99%; age 12 days. 25 July 2018 5.31pm
Today the moon is full. I was out at 4am but needed to get to an appointment so forced myself NOT to stop and capture the beautiful bright orb in a clear winter sky.
However, tonight is a lunar eclipse which is also hailed as the longest eclipse yet and called a blood moon. I'm getting out my large jacket and will be out in the garden (the cats and dogs will be thrilled) with my camera watching the eclipse. Of course... I'll be photographing it. I know that blogger friends, Eileen, (US) Bill (Ireland) Spare Parts and Pics, Mac Wheeler (Florida) and others will do the same when night falls in the Northern Hemisphere!
Meanwhile, you all have a WONDERFUL Friday.

Beautiful moon shot!
ReplyDeleteHello Jo, your moon photos are gorgeous. I am not sure if would will see the lunar eclipse where I live. Our weather is supposed to be cloudy and rainy so I will not see the moon at all. I will look forward to seeing your lunar eclipse photos. Happy Friday, enjoy your day and weekend!
ReplyDeleteI always sleep through the eclyspe. this morning on the way to the YMCA the moon was HUGE and gorgeous... the first time we have seen it in 2 weeks, we have had so many clouds could not see it..
ReplyDeleteUnless the clouds clear I am not going to see it :-((((. Have a good weekend, Diane
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty! I imagine it'll be overcast here tonight; we're getting rain at the moment.
ReplyDeleteHi Jo, and thanks for the mention on your post! I don't think N America will be able to view the actual lunar eclipse (bummer!) but I do hope to get some moon shots tonight. Yours are beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI was out there marvelling at it too. And taking photos. Which will NOT be as good as your lunar shots always are.
ReplyDeleteI can never get a good shot of the moon. These are great. Have fun out there with the camera
