It was.
Needless to say, I crept into the bushes camera at the ready. A few minutes later I was rewarded and got my photo!
White-browed Robin-chat seen at Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Once I'd downloaded it onto my computer, I realized that it was not the bird I thought it was. It was the White-browed Robin-chat. The White -browed Robin -chat's call sounds like a repetitive "Figures of eight" and we have them in our garden here in Mwadui. However, it was the fact that the bird above had a call exactly like Ruppel's Robin-chat which is endemic to North East Africa.

Such a lovely bird to have in your garden Jo.
ReplyDeleteI often can't ID a bird until I get it on my computer.
Love his white eyebrows

ReplyDeleteWell, right bird or wrong bird, you got a wonderful photo, Jo. Great detail.

You had to crawl in somewhere for a pic like this. I think its much more fun than sitting way over there with a lens as long as your arm.
