Birds Eye View
A birds eye view of the campsite at Golden Gate National Park Near the end of our leave back home in South Africa, we went camping at Golden Gate National Park. You can read about this here. While hiking in the mountains on Easter Sunday, I took many photos, not least of them the one above. For more beautiful scenes around the world, click here.
That's the veiw that I would have in dreams as a child... thanks for the memories
ReplyDeleteI like the very tall, thin trees. Do you know the name of them?
ReplyDeleteIt looks a super campsite and it must have been a steep hike up there.
ReplyDeleteGreat view :)

Mike, everytime I stand up on the Sentinal (from where I took this photo), I still am amazed at the wonderful vista. Thanks for popping in.
ReplyDeleteHi Joyful;) yes, those are poplar trees, all over the Free State (not indigenous to South Africa but so beautiful especially in the autumn. Good to see you again.
Beautiful view and scene. The trees are pretty Great photo! Have a great day, Jo!
ReplyDeleteA lovely view but definitely is not San Francisco! Of course, I immediately thought of SF when seeing Golden Gate.
ReplyDeleteWe have tons of poplars here too and were traditionally planted for daughters by their fathers to provide dowry money.
Hugs!
Hi diane;) the campsite is always wonderful - hoo-boy the hike was very challening!
ReplyDeleteThanks Eileen: you enjoy yours too.
Hi Dedene;) yes, it has the same name. That is so interesting about poplars being planted by the fathers for their daughters.
