Only in Africa

Today Grant brought me mail; two envelopes containing two Christmas cards from two different parts of the world.

One card is from my dear blogger friend, Penny from Canada and the other is from a dear sweet friend in my hometown, Marquard in South Africa. Carina's card left SA on 17 December 2013, and Penny posted her card in good time before the end of November 2013. The postage stamps in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania on both cards show 23 December and 16 December respectively.

So how on earth did the cards only reach me (1000km north of Dar Es Salaam) on 16th June 2014?

 At least they got here!

Thanks dear sweet Penny and to Carina (via Facebook) for thinking of me at Christmas time!

I'm linking my post to Our World Tuesday which you can access by clicking here

I hope you're all having a great week so far.

  2. Wow! Dear Jo, I'm stunned that it took so long to reach you. That is a mighty long journey for that little card from Canada. I am glad it did eventually reach you. Big hugs. xx

  7. That was a slow transit for the mail! Maybe you should just consider the cards as early for next Christmas.
