Different Critters on a road trip

Once again I've been rather absent from Blogger this week. I have an excuse: I was on a road trip.  Grant and I traveled down from Marquard in the Free State to Cape Town in the Western Cape. The scenery through the Karoo and then the Western Cape is always beautiful. I managed to photograph many interesting scenes and landscapes from the moving car. Here are a few of them...
I was fascinated by the plentiful windmills in the Karoo

The Succulent Garden (Obesa Nursery) when entering Graaff Reinet
The cacti gardens at Obesa are art. They start on the pavement (sidewalk) and the nursery encompasses a whole block
A beautiful dam as we entered the Western Cape
I was thrilled to have snapped this handsome young man while I photographed the dam. I hadn't even seen him!
The aloes were in full bloom and exquisite. This route is part of the Garden Route and you can see why!
Our first overnight stop on the route, was with our friend, Rudi in Wilderness. Here the men peruse the menu at a lovely restaurant which seems to have more vegetarian options than anything else. I wasn't complaining!
Rudi's A-frame log cabin is situated on top of a hill overlooking the Ebb and Flow National Park and the sea beyond. This provides the most spectacular view for miles around and if you're good, you can photograph all many of egrets, eagles and other birds at eye level!
His house is surrounded by dense natural bush and flowers. The reason why I didn't photograph the view, is that I took these photos early in the morning while everything is shrouded in thick mist

I'm linking to Saturday Critters with Eileen here

HAPPY SATURDAY TO YOU ALL!
