Happy Birthday, Angus!

Today out son, Angus celebrates his birthday. It's fitting that I'm visiting in the area quite close to  Empangeni, Zululandwhere Angus was born 36 years ago.

Happy birthday Angus!
Angus and family visiting Granny Bammie (MIL Pam) on her birthday earlier this week

Here in Monzi, Zululand, I've spotted many critters!

The first thing you notice when you drive up to the Guest House we're staying in, is a sign...

Here's the little dog...

PS We've discovered that when we're Rina's cooking meat on the stove, there's nothing wrong with little mutt's olfactory senses!

Of the two of us oldies, I'm the calm one who can pick up spiders carefully (in a tissue, but) and place it outside safely.  I don't shudder when critters appear in my shower. Rina is petrified of all creepy crawlies. So what happens this week? A small frog appears in RINA's shower!
The small frog which I removed from Rina's shower cubicle this week

While sitting out on the patio of the Guest House, we spotted a small lizard on the inside of the kitchen window
Several evening later, we spotted a ghecko on the exterior wall of the Guest House

As I photographed the critter above, I noticed a movement in the corner of my eye...

  2. Love all your critters. I'm not freaked out by creepy crawlies. In my first trip to Africa, I was startled by a gecko though when it shot out from behind a picture hanging on the wall on my very first night in Africa. I still remember how I screamed out loud lol. We don't have geckos where I live or for that matter things that jump out at you from behind paintings in hotel rooms, lol. Hope you are having a wonderful time. xx
