Hedges Kitties get out!

Hi Bozo, Lindy and all Mum's blog readers. This is Ambrose with good news! Yesterday we were all allowed to go outside.

I, Ambrose was very careful as it was the first time I've ever been outside here in this new place
Notice my thick tail when I smelled all the different things outside
Unca Shadow's also had a thick tail when he walked around the patio
Dad Ginger was soon walking around the garden as if he's always been here!
Unca Shadow and I met Cousin Tipsy for the first time here in this place. Cousin Tipsy and Cousin Topsy used to live in that F A R place we came from
Unca Shadow explored the whole garden...
... I found a lovely shady spot
...and dad Ginger sat in the sun against the wall

My Mum says I gave her a fright. During the afternoon, Dad Ginger and I found a split in the fence and walked outside the yard. Our yoomen dad saw Dad Ginger just outside the fence, but Mum says she and Aunty Rina walked around the block twice looking for me. Instead, I came around the back of the buildings back to the house.

We slept soundly last night after this exciting outing.

  2. Dear Jo, this post reminds me of when I first adopted my cat, Princess. I was new to cats and she as new to me. She was fully grown too and I had no idea of her background. It soon became clear that though she thoroughly looked like an indoor cat, she loved the outdoors and could survive quite well out there (she disappeared once for two weeks when visiting out of town until one day I heard her meowing at the back door all wet and bedraggled). I kept her indoors because there are all manner of things to cause her harm and gradually she learned to listen to me and not go outside if she heard my voice command her to stay indoors. It was quite the experience of me learning and her being trained. But cats do have that hunting instinct regardless of whether they stay indoors or out. That is why I don't think it is good idea to remove their claws like some people do. It is good to have a scratching post for them. Your cats have everything they need including love and I'm sure they bring you so much joy. Hugs and Happy Valentine's Day!
