Hedges Kitties new abode

Hi Bozo and all Mum's blog readers; this is Ambrose and we're pleased to see you back home, Bozo.

We kitties and Skabenga the dog, are staying in a small  place at the moment. Of course, not one of us is uncomfortable.

Mum brought all our donuts, bankets, rugs toys and of course our bowls along too.

So we kitties (and the dog) are in clover as always.

We don't go out yet, but I watch from the top of the fridge as the swallows fly into the passage outside the shack.
Aunty Chappie went walkabout when we first arrived, but she came back!  Here, she's the queen of her donut and special rug
Unca Shadow only sleeps on Mum's bed
Dad Ginger and I, Ambrose asleep together on our donut which is covered with a bedspread and which has a pillow at the back as well
A basket of toys ...
... and scratching post under the table
Aunty Chappy drinks water at her dish under the sink
Skabenga the dog, sleeps on the floor next to our yoomen dad at night. He's a very good doggie

Mum's home again!

Hi Bozo and Mum's blog reader; this is Ambrose and I've been sad this week. Mum was gone for a L O N G time. But we had Mama Rina and Aunty Erica to care for all our needs.

Mum's home again with our yoomen dad who has a sore arm.

What's an arm, Unca Shadow?

Oh is it the same as we have; like our front legs?

Mmm
Unca Shadow looks at Mum who returned after a L O N G time!

I was a very good kitty while Mama Rina took care of us!
Dad Ginger purrs and kneads the sheepskin - he's also happy Mum is home again!

Hedges Cats Weekend

Hi Bozo, Lindy and all mum's blog readers. This is Ambrose with a post on what we kitties are doing.

Well, mostly sleeping!

Our Mum and yoomen Dad always laugh at the way I sleep; I wonder why?
They also laugh at Unca Shadow who sometimes sleeps with his eyes open!

Mum also said : Wonders never cease. Dad Ginger and Unca Ginger were sola- shy-zing under the dining table this week. What's sola-shy-zing, Unca Shadow? Oh this time you do know? It's when cats sit together in peace.

Aaah.

Mum will be happy!

Dad Ginger and Unca Shadow solar-shy-zing

Then Dad Ginger climbed into the kitchen cupboard to check if Mum had enough cans of cat food
Many cans of our favorite food in jelly

Many, many cans!
And lots of cat kibbles which are stored in Mum's spare wardrobe

My favorite meat is ground beef which Mum keeps in the freezer. Last week I jumped up and checked why she wasn't giving me my treat!

Mmm, no this stuff's all frozen!

Might as well get down and wait until she's ready to feed me!

Mum always tells me that as a blogger (hear that Unca Shdaow, that's me!) I should always end with good wishes. So everybody out there, you all have a great week.

Dogs inside our house!

Hi Bozo, Lindy and Mum's blog readers; this is Ambrose. Such funny happenings this week here at home.

Three days ago, Mum closed us in the veranda area; Regina placed our food bowls (three) water bowls  (three) and litter boxes (yes, three) in there with us. We knew something was afoot.

And it was.

Soon a man from another town arrived and then horror of horrors, Askari Michael lead Princess along the side of the house and brought her into the house. Not near us, of course; but into Dad's bathroom. I purred happily because I heard Mum tell Dad later that when Princess got to the back door, she lay down and wouldn't come inside. Michael carried her to the big bathroom.

I also heard Mum talking to the other man, about the dogs prashuns.

What's a prashun, Unca Shadow?

Huh, they do what? Cut you up, fiddle inside you and then sew you together again? And that happened to us: me, Ambrose, you Unca Shadow and Dad Ginger? Ewgh.

Because their mum had disappeared into our house, Princess' pups sniffed around the front door.
Bibi and Msishana -Neusi sniff at our front door trying to find their mama
Mvulana plays with a water bottle; he doesn't seem to worry where his mama is

This is me when the pups get to close to the veranda
For safety I curled next to my Dad Ginger
 up behind the Mama Chui/Tiger
More pups playing on the lawn. When will it end?

At least now all is back to normal although there is a new dog,

 Nando
in the garden:. He lived at the Guest House but since he and Princess had their prashuns, he has moved in here in our garden.

Oh and Mum says since I've become a big cat (I wonder when that was!) I have to wish you all a wonderful Sunday.

Good fences, good integration

The pups relax in their enclosure after the first of their many outing every day

Yesterday Michael and I went onto the next phase of puppy orientation: integration. We started with Bibi, the smallest but cleverest pup. We carried her over to the Guest House to meet Nando.
Nando is one of the seven pups that Honey had last year.  Sadly, Honey died shortly after I'd assisted the vet to spay her here in our house
Nando is not at all confident. I'm hoping that by having Bibi as a  playmate, he'll become more extrovert
Bibi's first meeting with Unca Nando
Dogs have a different way of greeting each other than we have!

Unca Nando whispers something in Bibi's ear!

Bibi checks out Edward's guard hut. Edward was my askari for two years and treated Toffee and Buster very well. I know Bibi is in safe hands with him

After eight minutes of her first social visit outside our garden, Bibi was carried back to the enclosure where her siblings greeted her as if she'd been gone for ages!

Rewind to our holiday in South Africa; in particular our bike tour to the Cape. I posted about visiting Leisure Island a few weeks ago. I took many photo of the houses and especially the beautiful fences surrounding them.

A double-storied house with a low picket fence. Next door was a  grey bungalow next to it with a smarter-looking fence interspersed with pillars to match it
The rustic look of this fence and gate suited the simplistic house behind it
A very romantic look: a low wall, thick hedge and a wooden walk-through gate
This imposing ironwork and brick pillared fence suited the modern house it protected

I have several more  photos of walls, fences and gates which I took on this island. However, I'll leave them for a future post. Meanwhile I'm linking to TexWisGirl's meme which you can access by clicking here

I hope you're all having a great week so far!

Poor mum

Hi everyone, this is Ambrose posting on Mum's blog. She has been frantic. She struggled to connect her new laptop to her blog. Then she got that right and suddenly she had no Internet connection. Our yoomen dad called in a nice gentleman working in his office. He comes from Dar and after trying all sorts of things to improve Mum's signal, he looked at the rooter.

What's that Unca Shadow? Oh, is it called a ROUTER? Well, the wire had fallen out - Mum thinks we kitties pushed the router and the wire came loose. Now it's connected again and Mum is so happy!

Which makes us happy too! And she returned after being gone for a LONG time...

Dad Ginger is so happy that he played rough and tumble with his scratching post

Which fell over!

I rushed forward to see what my Dad Ginger had done!

While he carried n playing with the ropes !

I hope you're all having a wonderful Sunday. Mum didn't say I had to post about the pups (although she had one in the house earlier!) but they are getting very big and noisy!

Hedges Kitty Update

Hi Bozo, Lindy and all mum's friends. This is Ambrose with the news.

Although mum seemed a bit better in the week, she still didn't get up and move around much. Dad Ginger loves to sleep on mum's feet on her bed! Yesterday our yoomen dad took mum to the hostipal again! She came back after a L O N G time and went to  bed again! I heard our yoomen dad tell Unca Johan that although the lamaria is over, she still has a rivus.

What's that Unca Shadow? Oh, not a rivus but a virus!

Mum says she'll carry on resting and drink lots of water. Oooh, we kitties have bowls of water all over the house. We like our water, but we will share with mum if she likes!

What's that Unca Shadow? Oh! Mum has her own glass for water.

This is me, Ambrose cuddling up to Mama Tiger on our day bed on the veranda

Unca Shadow rests on a chair under the dining room table

Dad Ginger rests on the sofa

Mum says hi to everyone. She says she'll be better soon and visit you all on Boggler

Meanwhile we three Tanzanian cats are being very good so that mum can get well again.
