My bucolic life

I've posted about this before: the peace and calm of my life on a dairy farm. Skabenga and I take a walk every afternoon after work and the last time we were out, I photographed the cattle en route.

 How now, brown cow?

 Grazing...
...then sizing up this black critter (whom they know already!)

Back home, Shadow checks out the neighbor 's dogs behind the fence. Grant always said he's the whitest of white cats ever
Going out at first light, this morning, I first photographed the moon which, although waning, was still full. The cows stopped to watch!
Just outside the farmyard is the calf nursery. The calves are taken from the cows at a young age, but still are fed their mother's milk by a milk maid. Here a cow moos at her tiny calf
I've had guests in my accommodation over the long weekend so early this morning I went to service The Bunker

  3. How sad for the calf and its mother, but always happy to see photos of Shadow. I can't help wondering how old he is now, he's been with you a long time.
I'm so glad life on the farm is providing you with the peace and serenity you need, my dear friend.
    Lots of love,

  8. When I'm out walking or biking in the countryside, I will stop to take photos of cows. They seem to ask to be photographed. :-) Your rental looks like a fun place to stay.
