Happy Weekend Everyone !

For the past eight weeks...
...it's been raining....
...and raining...
...and raining !
We've returned from Nairobi and are safely back in the valley again. The roads were horrific made worse by the incessant rains over the past weeks. (and I thought we were entering the dry season this month!)  I'll be back to visiting blogs and commenting regularly again soon. Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend.

Blessings

Jo

PS My brother, Phillip who's a teacher at Drakensview Primary school in Estcourt, Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa posted about a school prize-giving function which brought back memories of when our younger son, Angus was a young lad at the very school. I decided to link his post here if you care to take a look.

  1. I'm so glad you made it home safely to the valley. You sure have been getting a lot of rain and it has made the countryside so nice and green. I hope it stops soon so you can get some respite.

  2. So glad to know you're safely home. I'd be a nervous wreck travelling on those sodden, slippery, steeply inclined, dirt roads. Can't wait to hear about your trip. Thanks also for your last email, Jo. Your Christmas plans sound awesome! Big hug xoxo

  3. Now you know how it is in Belgium ! usually I have to say because this year it hasn't rained much and November was the driest once since the creation of the weather station !
But our streets are a little better !

  4. I'm glad you made it home safely . Those tropical down pours can be hard to drive in. Your brother's school speech day was interesting.

  5. I love the rain ... but too many cloudy days in a row make me a little depressed ...

    ... welcome home.

  7. Hi, Jo! I'm thankful to read that you returned safely home because I know some of the hazards you faced. But what adventures, eh?

I visited Phillip's page and found it to be a very interesting read. Thanks for the link. I'm assuming that he is a teacher in the school somewhere in S. Africa?

  9. All that rain is what makes Kenya look so lush and green. It's hard to imagine a place with so much rain, since I've lived nearly my entire 63 years largely arid California, especially southern Cal, where I grew up.
