God blesses those who are merciful for they shall be shown mercy Matthew 5:7
I've always loved the passage in Matthew 5:1-12 known as the Sermon on the Mount. Also known as the Beatitudes, it contains much of what God desires of us as we seek to follow His will for our lives. As we look over God's plan for our lives, we may wonder how anyone can live up to it. Truth is, no-one can do it without God's help. The verse I quoted above reminds me to be merciful to others at all times. It 's not only for dicators or judges who wield a special power and can give a thumbs up or thumbs down on someone. It pertains to me who has to have mercy when someone cuts in front of me in the traffic. When the dog walks all over the clean tiles with its muddy paws. When my house-lady arrives late for work. She had to be up at 5am to get her little girl onto the school bus and then clean her parents' home which caused her to miss the company transprort to the camp. So many times we are called upon to show mercy. Are we?
Good words for us to remember. At times we need others to show mercy to us as well. Blessings. xx
