Apart from attending a Kenyan wedding on Saturday (more about that tomorrow) we also went out birding.
Top left is a Common Greenshank spotted in the river below the offices; top right is a Yellow-and-red Barbet seen on the way up to the mine; the middle two and bottom left are White-fronted Bee-eaters; the bottom right photo is of a Fork-tailed Drongo in perfect pose
Hope you all had a wonderful New Year's weekend and are rearing to go in 2012!
You have such beautiful birds in Kenya, Jo. I'm impressed. But getting that nasty-eyed fork-tailed Drongo to pose perfectly for you must have been very difficult. LOL

Gorgeous group of birds, Jo. Those Bee-eaters are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year.

Betsy
It is hard to pick a favorite, but the yellow and red Barbet has a lot of added interest in the spots on his wings. And look at those thorns!!!
ReplyDeleteNice way to start off the new year.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful birds, Jo!
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous birds! And I really like the soft backgrounds. Happy New Year to you, too, Jo!
