Fortunately Chappie hadn't yet injured the little creature
The praying mantis stood up in defence when I leaned over it with my camera
We guided the mantis onto a piece of wood
Afterwards I placed it near a blade of grass onto which it clung and finally moved to safety
I'm linking my post to Saturday Critters with Eileen which you can access here

ReplyDeleteI don't remember where I got it, but I had a praying mantis in my classroom. I remember having to go to the pet store to buy crickets to feed it while it was on display for the kids. - Margy

ReplyDeleteGood rescue.
ReplyDeleteI was visited by a mantis as I was waiting for a train last week - they are really great animals to watch - although I think it freaked out some of the other people on the platform!
