"If your house was on fire, what would you grab/save before you escaped?"
Well, that's easy: here in Mwadui, I would push each cat into their respective travel cages (no easy task believe me, cats stress very quickly!) and
So, while the cats are the most important "things" for me to rescue, my photos and lots of other information, are stored on my laptop and hard drive. Anything else is replaceable...
What would you save if you were in this situation?
As I'm still hoping with my friend Lori, for a speedy thaw in their area (Western New York) I post a dainty but unknown bloom in my South African garden.

In a fire, it would take a LONG time to catch your animals, so forget about putting each on into a cage. Just toss them out, stick your hard drive into your pocket or under your arm and grab your computer and run like hell.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so glad you said the cats first. Of course. Then I laughed about the external hard drive, although of course I understand stored memories.
ReplyDeleteI used to think I'd try to save my antique desk, but if I could get Dick and Lindy and myself out, I'd be happy.

My wife and kids. End of story.
ReplyDeleteBut I would be sorely tempted by the camera bag and desk top as well!

Jo, what a question. Hopefully something like this will never happen..But, if it did I would have to make sure hubby and my Goldie Girl were out safely.. The external hard drive would be a thought too.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day!
What a question!! If I knew Betsy was safe, I would grab my camera bag and backup drive.
ReplyDeleteHI I had this very same conversation with my friend Eileen on the I.O.W. today so my answer to her and you is, my photographs. (ALL)
ReplyDeleteI've thought about this somewhat. Yesterday a house in our neighborhood had a fire. It wasn't completely destroyed, but I think the owners won't be living there for a while. I don't know what I'd grab if our place was consumed by fire! Hopefully, I never have to find out!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting point of view.
ReplyDeleteAs I live in a small apartment in a big city, maybe I wouldn't take anything material with me, excepta file with all my photos to have good memories! But if I still had all my dogs, turtle and fish, certainly I would only take them!

Good thought provoking post. Hoping nothing like this ever happens... but if it did I would grab family and animals.
ReplyDeleteMy family, if they were all here, and of course the dog. If time permitted, my computer as it has so many pictures of the family. Then, my purse which has all my identification! :)
