Homely critters for today

Today, I normally post wildlife and other critters which cross our path here in Mwadui. However, this week, I've not managed to photograph one single insect, mammal or reptile for Eileen's meme. I've decided to post Shadow (who hasn't featured at all in any posts for the past three weeks, and feeling left out, LOL) in a basket!
Shadow, part of my African decor on the veranda which is their day room as well

Curled up in a deep round basket!

And before I get ticked off in Ambrose's post tomorrow, here's a quick pic of him and his Dad Ginger, sunning themselves in the windowsill.

I'm linking up to Saturday Critters hosted by Eileen, whose blog you can access here

As I promised from yesterday, I'm posting a bloom every day. This is my stand in protest with Lori from Skoog Farm Journal who's also posting a bloom every day until the snow melts in her area. She lives in Western New York, and phew, it's a real cold winter they're enduring this year.

Do pop over to Lori's farm with many animals, beautiful barns and skies which she captures perfectly on camera. You can access her blog here

A beautiful pink hibiscus bloom

We've had two downpours of rain over the past two evenings, so the world around us is fresh and bright. I'm about to be collected by my trusty driver to go on a wonderful bird trip through the bush.

Africa, glorious Africa!

I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend.

  1. Jo. You are such a sport to post flowers in protest of our western New York winter! That hibiscus is a beauty.

  9. I Love your basket collection, and Shadow makes a nice addition. Also rained last night and today at Addo. In fact it's cold enough to feel like fall.
