Saturday Critters Mid-March

Although we had a hectic week of moving Pam from her flat to the new unit in the retirement center, I still managed to spot and photograph several critters for today's party.

The first critter in my post, I didn't actually see personally. Angus sent me a WA of one of the church members holding this interesting snake which they found curled around the wooden railing outside Amanda's coffee shop.
Frik, a church member, holding a mamba so that Angus could photograph it. Afterwards, Frik released it in the open plot of land opposite the church

While drinking tea under the awning on the patio, we all watched fascinated as a spider weaved her web.

We think this is the female of the species

A wagtail perched on top of Angus and Amanda's roof

Yesterday morning Chappie came in from the garden with something in her mouth. When Rina saw it, she put both hands over her ears and yelled. I grabbed a tea cup from the kitchen cabinet and holding an indignant cat away with my left hand, I scooped the lizard into the cup with my right.

Before releasing it in a safe place in the garden, I photographed the little critter. I think it's a type of skink
When I tipped it from the cup onto the lawn, it lay dead still. I gave it a gentle prod and it disappeared under a shrub

I'm linking my post to Saturday Critters with Eileen which you can visit here

We're expecting Pam's two sisters and BIL for the weekend. Pam is totally unaware of the impending visit - a great surprise awaits her! (I'll certainly post about our weekend on Monday)

Meanwhile I wish you all a wonderful Saturday.
