Prey Mantis
I'm not sure if this is the same one...
When I put Eddie to bed on Thursday night, I noticed a movement. I turned on the light.
A large frog!
Earlier on that evening, Rina pointed out that there were birds eating the small berries on the white stinkwood trees. I focused and captured a thrush eating its fill.
A regular visitor to our garden is this thrush
I loved this photo!

lovely berry eaters. i like frogs/toads. :)
ReplyDeleteDelightful critters for the day, Jo!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteYou've got some great photos of the critters! All I ever see around here are ants and creepy crawlies under the cement pavers on the patio and the same 3/4 types of birds which I've featured before. That is one of the things I love about Africa. So many critters all over. Mind you, if I lived in the country there would be a lot more critters here too. Have a wonderful, blessed Easter. I hope you got my card. Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteHi Jo, You have alot of critters in your yard.... We have raccoons which come on our deck most every night ---trying to find left-over bird seed which was not swept up. (We put our feeders up at nights and sweep the deck.)
ReplyDeleteEaster Blessings to you.
Hugs,
Betsy
Mantises are great, if a little other-worldly, I think its the triangular head!
