New straw, cold air!(Below is an email from my husband explaining the antiquated but very effective airconditioning system in his flat in Khartoum)
"I’ve just had the air conditioners serviced at my flat; it’s the strangest things you've ever seen. They have squares of straw in them and a pump that pours water over the straw. Behind the straw is a fan that blows air through the straw into the room. Very effective..."
LOL Jo & if the airconditioners are like that, one can only imagine about things like car engines, fridges, generators etc - only in Africa !!
