The shed building-in-progress with the caravan visible in the background. John and Debbie are expecting their fourth baby in mid-June
I've done several posts on John and Debbie who took up the call of God, giving up a lucrative job in the merchant navy and selling their beautiful home in the Free State. John, who spent half the year away from his young family, needed to come home.
"Then the Lord told Abram (John): Leave your country, your relatives and your father's house, and go to the land I will show you" Genesis 12:1. (Insert mine)
John, Debbie and their three small children now live on land they own in the Drakensberg. They are living in a caravan while John builds their home. (above)

As an income, John takes groups of people hiking in the Berg. In between he and two Zulu assistants are building a home for the family. At the same time Debbie homeschools their two older children, attends to their thirteen-month-old baby and is creating a garden on the land. John and Debbie are expecting their fourth baby in mid-June. I take my hat off to this faithful young couple; especially Debbie who, pregnant and tending to three young children and the living quarters, supports John all the way.
These photos above and below are expecially for Gaelyn of Geogypsy.
It's wonderful to see the shed going up - you must be very proud of them, it can't be easy for them & Debbie is amazing doing all that at around 8 months pregnant - wow ! The scenery is magnificent...
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful family.
ReplyDeleteWe are proud of them, Lynda. What a lovely view, hey?

Geseënd is jou kinders, Jo. Hulle het al klaar soveel wysheid van die Here ontvang, en hulle gehoorsaamheid is vir ons 'n inspirasie... ♥

ReplyDeleteJo, It is good to see that he is "Building his house on the rock of his salvation"! I'm sure Gaelyn will really like the pics! It is always good when we bring our children up in the ways of the Lord, It is obvious from what I understand about your son that you have... Great is your reward in heaven mother...
ReplyDeleteDankie Ida! Jy ken die storie aangesien jy hulle buurvrou was. Maar die plekkie in die berge is so rustig en geseend...
ReplyDeleteHi Andrea:) good to see you. Thanks for your kind comment.
Hi Mike, thanks for your insights. John was raised in a traditionally Christian home. But if it wasn't for salvation which Jesus paid for for us on the cross, and God's great mercy we'd all be lost now. Bless you!
Hi Jo, I know you are so very very proud of John --and his growing family... I admire young adults who give up the money ---so that they can have a better life together in nature... God Bless them ALL.
ReplyDeleteWe're having a great time at the beach. Wish you were here.
Hugs,
Betsy

ReplyDeleteThank you So much Jo! I have been touched by your beautiful family, sentiments and the Drakensberg. So nice to see John & Deb's dream become reality. I truly want to return. After all, John said he'd watch the children while we ladies hike. And I look forward to seeing photos of their new breath of life until that time comes. Blessings to you all!
