Angling the sun

I loved the way the sun reflects on the acute angle of the pyramid

I took this photo last month when we visited the Meroe Pyramids. You can read about them here.

The Arabic word for angle is Zāwyh

To all who left kind comments on my post yesterday about the joys, trials and tribulations of being a journalist, THANK YOU! I loved every encouraging comment and take heart from all your words. Bless you all

  3. Jo, sorry I haven't been around much lately or commenting much - I have just been so busy, with little time for blogging myself or reading other's blogs. I have caught up a little on yours now & am so enjoying 'seeing' the Sudan with you - your photos are great, too - I think you should write your own travel related guide to the Sudan ! (Love the camels and donkey's especially !)Looks like you are having SO much fun ;) ((Hugs)) xxx

  4. Hi Jo! So nice to hear from you! I've been busy with travel, work and getting kids off to college. How exciting that you want to be a magazine writer. I definitely think you have the talent for it. I like the Arabic words. Are you able to put together sentences? What a challenging language it is. Good work, my dear!

  5. Jo, I do believe you have actually captured some sun flares. If you look at the halo, there are wisps of the same light radiating further out.

Tremendous shot, you should be on astronomy picture of the day!

  7. Gorgeous shot, Jo. There's something special about pyramids. We were in Chichen Itza in Mexico's Yucatan earlier this year with my brother and his wife. My husband walked around with them for a long time but I could have sat there all day. Of the four of us, I was the only one with a lifelong desire to visit Chichen Itza, so I just wanted to enjoy the fact that I was there at last.
