Last Sunday we travelled into the desert and I captured this image of the sunrise a short distance outside Khartoum. The powerlines remind us that civilisation is in every area of Northern Sudan

The Arabic word for sunrise is Shrwq ash-Shms (sherock a shems)
Stunning! There is nothing quite like an African sunset ;-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sunrise, Jo.... That is a fabulous one. The colors are fabulous.

What a gorgeous sunrise. The wild land and the powerlines make a nice contrast.
ReplyDeleteFantastic! It looks BIGGER than ever.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely colors! You were up early that day!! Enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Jo,
ReplyDeleteAwesome sunrise. Beautiful colors...you can almost feel the heat.
☼ Sunny
the sun looks so much bigger over there!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic sunset, precious shot!

That's a wonderful sunset !! I hope I will see the same soon, :) !
ReplyDeleteThe sun is soooo big and the colours beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is a stunning shot Jo. Living in the middle of the city as I do, there are always power lines and things in the way so I never get to take nice shots of the sunrise or sunset anymore. Now I am going to the bush for a couple of weeks and will make up for it. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a glorious way to end the day and what a superb capture, Jo! Such glowing, dramatic colors! Happy SWF! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Gorgeous sight to end the day with, Jo! The colors are beautiful. Happy Skywatching!
ReplyDeleteFantastic shot Jo, as always!
ReplyDeleteThe setting sun looks so huge! Spectacular, Jo. The sun never looks that huge in my sunset shots, and if I crop the photo a lot to make the sun look large, it's blurry. I guess it's because I have a not very expensive camera--Canon PowerShot SD600 digital ELPH , 6 mb. Maybe I can get a used bigger mb camera on Ebay for a good price.
