Photos for Auntie Kay of Alberta!

Yesterday I decided to take [more] photos of the cats and post them for Kay of Alberta. As I focussed on Ambrose who was playing with Ginger's favourite mouse, he stopped playing and stared at the lens cap dangling from my camera.

Ambrose more interested in my lens cap than in playing with Ginger's favpourite mouse

Ginger is such a mild-mannered cat. Last week I tried the cat harness on him and he loved it. On Sunday evening Grant and I carried him to the gate wrapped in a towel ( so that he couldn't see the dogs and vice versa) and out into the street. He had a wonderful time in the outdoors for the first time in five weeks.

Ginger revels in being outdoors for the first time since leaving Kenya at the beginning of February

Shadow and Ambrose were waiting for us on the veranda when we returned home with Ginger. They sniffed at him and looked at us as if to say, where WERE you?

  1. Hi Jo, So glad you are feeling better. Take care of you--and Grant!

Love the pictures of Ginger.. Glad she did well being outside for awhile. I can imagine how much she loved it.

We are home from our 2nd trip is a month--and both of us have colds.. Yuk! Guess it will be REST for this upcoming week for both of us.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  2. Jo, this is absolutely wonderful. Thank you, thank you. I love them.
Dear old Ginger, taking to the harness like that, so happy to be outdoors.
I know Shadow would like going for a harnessed walk, but is Ambrose big enough yet so the harness wouldn't slip right off him? Mind you, I suspect he'd follow your lens cap anywhere!
Thanks again. I love having a post just for me.
    Hugs to all,
    K

  5. Good idea ! when Arthur had been badly bitten in his tail during a cat fight so that he almost lost it, he wasn't allowed to go out and he meowed the whole day long. Finally I bought a harness with a leash and Mr. G. walked him in the garden. He was really happy and enjoyed it. We did that daily for 3 weeks ! Then he could go out alone again. He never complained about the harness.

  7. Cute interactions. I'll bet that lens cover would be very fun to bat around.

  9. I'm sure that Ginger had a fantastic time getting out of the house and into nature for awhile. Glad to know you are feeling better also. I'm not writing much these days ... just trying to stay ahead of this chemo stuff.

  11. Jo — I had forgotten all about this wonderful post on your blog. As you probably noticed, I wasn't blogging for quite a while, and finally our doctor sent me to a specialist, and now they say I'm on the road to recovery. I hate that I make so many typing errors, but that's what happens, I guess.
Am trying to get back in stride in the blog world. Glad you're still there.
    Luv, K
