African Scops owl

I've posted about the African Scops Owl which roosts in a tree just below our front garden gate. Two weeks ago, Amanda told me that her husband, Andre had seen a small owl in their garden. It turned out to be an African Scops Owl!

On Sunday I took photos of the Hedges African Scops Owl and then we drove to Andre and Amanda Stoop's house. They showed us where the owl was roosting (like "our" owl, it was also very well camouflaged) and I took several photos.

This African Scops Owl seems to be a bit younger than ours; it also keeps its (quite squint) eyes open most of the day!

  2. It must be great having him nest there by you. Not everybody likes owls but they have a certain kind of fascination to them
