Black-headed Heron
A Black - headed Heron landed in a tree over my back garden this week
I never pictured black herons perching in trees...I just pictured them standing in water or flying. Unique capture, Jo! You got a great shot of its eye.

Love the heron, Jo! This one looks like our BC night heron. Thanks for sharing your WBW!
Hi there - I think your cat is a cray person! I like him/ her!
It look like you got really close to the heron - they always seems so out of place in trees, but I know lots of them nest in them.

Awesome shot! Lucky you with such a visitor!
What a viewpoint you had! I like that eye looking at you through the branches.
That is a very cool photo! I saw a heron in a tree for the first time the other day. He was really high up, too. We always see them in water.
A unique photo.
Great capture!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Excellent capture Jo! I love seeing herons in trees. Is it breeding season there?
Gorgeous!
First time visit and you did a wonderful job of capturing this unique Heron. It's yellow eye is sharp considering all the tree branches and leaves.
Impressive capture!
