My angel Mum

Today marks the 20th anniversary of my Mum, Daphne's death. I am glad that while she was my earthly mother, especially after she'd been widowed, that I showed her the love and respect she deserved.

  1. My dear mum's passing is coming up to 19 years soon, she too was widowed for many years. Like you, I loved and respected her so much, and still miss her terribly. Even though I moved to the US when still young (19), I always made the effort to get home to England - or paid for her to come here to visit - so we saw each other most years. I have boxes of our letters, and memories of those so expensive phone calls back and forth across the ocean! Managed to arrive home in the UK to see her for a few hours before she died - they say she waited for me.
Wishing your good memories always stay with you too Jo.

  2. That is a very important (and no doubt comforting) memory to have.

  3. Yes, Jo. Showing love & respect to our parents is the only legacy we can leave that has true value. " Honour Thy father & mother " ...lots of love..xxx

  5. So wise to lavish loving attention on your mom instead of after she is gone gone wishing you had done so. May you have precious memories.
