Refreshing rains

and my body and soul has been restored. Praise God!
 It has rained at last! Over the weekend the heavens opened and cooled the earth and air

The Gideons International, pocket-sized Word of God, that I received from my dear friend Pat in the US.

Psalm 23
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want;
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside still waters; He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake;
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil; for You are with me
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all my life;
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

From The Gideons International [New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs]

This compact little Bible was recently gifted to me by dear blogger friend Pat in the USA. Do visit her blog. (see her name previously highlighted/underscored and click on it) Pat has such a heart for people, especially the youth and with her husband takes an active part in Vacation Bible School, Good News Clubs and is part of the worship ministry in their church.  They are also part of Gideons International, the organization that places Bibles in hotels, motels, hospitals, doctors and dentist offices, and also distributes pocket-sized New Testaments to students, military personnel, firefighters, police, and anyone they come across. The little New Testaments  have the "Romans Road" plan of salvation in the back.

I told Pat I "grade" hospitality establishments: Guest Houses, Bed and Breakfasts and hotels by whether they have a Gideons in their rooms or not.  When I arrived home, I received a Gideons as a gift.

Ours (pictured above) is perfect for taking along on our motorbike trips as it is small,  light and yet, unlike all the other small travel Bibles we've had, perfectly legible for "older" eyesight!

Thanks again, Pat. Bless you and your husband for all you do for your community and as far as across the seas. You truly are the hands, feet and mouthpiece of Jesus.

  3. Hi Jo, I'm trying to catch up today!!!!! That was nice to get the gift from your friend Pat. The little New Testaments are nice to have around.. And since they are small, you can carry it with you.

    Glad you made it safe and sound back to the North Africa area--and found your 'babies' in good shape. Love the new collar for your kitty..

    Pictures of your grandbabies are all so nice... And your motorcycle trip looked like fun... Looks like you had a fun time in South Africa. Sorry you developed a stomach problem. Hope you are well now.

    Have a great week.
    Hugs,
    Betsy
