Soaring above

The bearded vulture soaring above is not too clear, but isn't that the most amazingly blue sky ever!

  1. Hi Jo! Yes it is blue indeed! we used to tease each other at work saying, "you've been sittin there so long the vultures have come, let's get to work!" Nice pic... Birds are very difficult to even get in frame, let alone in focus. Have fun!
Still laughing about the grandcritter in the box on the back of the bike... Just cute!

  3. Anything soaring in that clear blue sky is fortunate to be alive. Just like those of us looking at it.

  4. Thanks for popping in, Mike. I took this photo (in South Africa) so quickly with my Sony point and shoot, so it did come out quite well despite the circumstances! I like your old saying. Yes, our little lad back home is SO friendly and enjoys every pose!

Thanks Janie, our South African skies are stunning, I'll agree. The vultures in SA are seriously endangered and we stop to view (and try to photograph) them at every opportunity) Have a wonderful weekend.

  6. One time somebody asked me what kind of animal I would chose to be, I choose birds because they soar high and I love to watch things from above. Your shot reminds me of that question some time ago. Happy weekend!
