Bishop spotted on the mine last Saturday

I've been trying to ID this bird and have come up with one possibility, a Black Bishop. It's locally common in Kenya and Northern Tanzania. I never saw bishops in Kenya; I'm still getting to know these here on the mine.

  1. Fabulous colours, Jo.
I was just thinking about you, and thinking it's too early for you to have posted anything yet, but there you are, having posted a photo at 4:30am. Do you ever sleep?
Hope you and Grant and the cats continue to be well.
    Luv, K

  2. Wow! Looks like it should be a Halloween bird.

  3. Now that is one beautiful bird. What a wonderful set of colors.

    Thanks for sharing.

  4. Jo, what a colorful bird. So pretty. It kind of reminds me of our orioles. Black and orange. Great sighting. Have a wonderful day.

  5. No idea but he's beautiful!

  6. He does look like a bishop with an orange cowl on. Beautiful bright colors. Nice capture, Jo!
