An upgrade

Some of you may know that I still have possessions stored in Marquard, the town we moved to the Berg from in October 2016. Not only household furniture and appliances, but personal effects as well.

Mine and Grant's.

I have boxes of clothing, shoes, sandals and handbags, somewhere in there lurks my trusty leather handbag. Meanwhile the off-the-shelf handbag I'm using, has become very, very tatty, I decided to buy a cosmetic handbag in the interim.

Luckily for me a gentleman who was promoting a project, came by my shop and asked if I would type his handwritten (read hand-scrawled!) notes on the computer.

Because I take in typing, I kept strict tabs on the times it took for me to do the seven pages. My DIL Amanda in Marquard gave me a suggested rate which I used to invoice this man. His wife (who hadn't wanted the bother of doing his typing) paid me in cash.

So I ordered my handbag from Justine ,  a skincare company with which I've had strong ties for the past 35 years.  In 1985 I joined Justine as a consultant and worked my way up to a manager in a couple of months. Selling Justine and later managing a team of consultants, gave me confidence, taught me about skincare and how to improve my self-image. We attended quarterly conferences at five-star hotels where those of us who achieved target,  we were awarded with bonus checks and jewelry.

These days I am merely a Justine customer. So the most natural thing to do when I needed a handbag and had earned the exact amount, I ordered it from Justine.

It arrived this morning...

Out with this one:

 Sorry, Baggy, you were BINNED!

And in with this one!
 Much better, don't you think?

I hope you're all having a really great Monday.

  3. Hi Jo, I like red so I love your new handbag. But I can see why you loved the black now tattered bag. It is just the kind that would suit me for every day use. I learned something new about you today. I hadn't realized you used to work as a skin care consultant.
