Gurneys Sugarbird

Good morning Blogger friends. It's the new week in the Southern Hemisphere and I'm catching up on my posts.

Thank you for  the kind concern re my rib. I mostly rested this weekend past and feel much better.

This little bird has featured several times on the posts that I share on Eileen's Saturday Critters. However, this day I was reversing my car off the patio at The Bunker and spotted it on the aloes. I took several photos from my car window. Then I slowly opened the door, got out and took a few more. It was a few minutes before the bird saw me and flew off!

Gurney's Sugarbird took no notice of the photographer

It looked as if it noticed me here...

Still seems unaware of the intrusive photographer!

Finally it spotted me!

Even though I love birding and photographing them, I try not to interfere or chase them, especially when they are feeding. This bird continued to drink nectar from the aloes and I managed several photos before it noticed me. I got back into my car, and drove off leaving it in peace. It is very quiet and private at The Bunker so birds enjoy the surroundings without too much human inference.

I'm linking to Saturday Critters here

I'm off to work in the farm office and wish you all a wonderful week ahead.

The Gurney's Sugarbird is great looking bird. I like the yellow around it's rump, the long tail and it curved bill. Beautiful photos and a wonderful sighting. I am happy to hear you are feeling better, take care. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy week ahead.
