The sociable weavers' nest is a huge structure built on telephone poles, electricity pylons and trees in the area. I took this photo in the Northern Cape on our recent bike ride through Namibia and Botswana
Wow, those are amazing engineering feats, to keep those huge nests on a pole.ReplyDelete
Those nests look Huge. It's like tree houses. Beautiful blue sky.ReplyDelete
come build me a nest, a place
to lie down and rest.
Wow, that really is impressive!ReplyDelete
Those are the biggest bird's nests I've ever seen...amazing! It looks like the pole is leaning with the weight of the nests.ReplyDelete
I won't be commenting for most of December as we'll be out of town in a location without internet access. But I'll come home with lots of photos!
Janie, it is quite impressive, not so. However, many times you see nests which have collapsed and been abandoned lying on the ground.ReplyDelete
Hi Gaelyn;) yes, I liked the idea of the nests against vast the Kalahari sky!
