Birding along the way

Hello everyone. I've been away from Blogger again due to traveling. This time in a vehicle, not on a motorcycle. Grant wanted to collect the last of his tools from storage in Marquard. We hooked a trailer to the vehicle and off we went on Sunday morning.

As usual we stayed over with our friend Rina who lives in the retirement village just in front of Grant's mum's unit. So we were able to visit with MIL Pam on several occasions in between enjoying a delicious Sunday lunch that Rina cooked; spent a day in the city doing business and then back to Marquard to collect the equipment and tools.

On the way up and back home, Grant stopped at a beautiful dam in the Golden Gate National Highlands Park for me to take photos.

A beautiful dam along the road when we travel between the Berg and  Marquard
 Reed Cormorant drying its wings
I was challenged by the glare off the water and Grant kept up a running commentary about how many cormorants were on the branches

Eventually there were four birds on the branch with two ducks sailing into the picture as well!

Back on the farm road at the first gate I have to open,
Grant stopped for me to photograph a Swainson's Spurfowl

I'm linking to Wild Bird Wednesday here
